How many lives has crazy texas weather taken over the years and what is Texas doing to prevent more lives from being taken?

Many lives have been taken and injuries have been caused by Texas tornadoes. From 1950 to 1995 there have been more than 7,000 injuries caused by tornadoes not to mention the countless deaths. Here are a few tornadoes that have taken lives. A tornado near Wichita Falls took 42 lives, another tornado near Sargosa took 30 lives and injured countless others and there have been many others like these who have taken more lives and injured more  people. I'm doing some research on what Texas is doing to save lives but its seems like there doing more to save files from being taken by tornadoes then they are actual people.  That sounds a little ridiculous. Tornadoes aren't the only dangerous weather to be worried about over recent years there's also been many wildfires, thunderstorms, and dangerous thunderstorms including lightning injuries. The worst in my opinion being the wildfires. Raging Texas wildfires(most likely caused by extremely dry, hot weather) devastated about 1.65 million acres across the state. The weather started in North Texas not far from where I live. Pretty scary huh? The Texas Forest service advised that you didn't do much burning during that time and to try to remove very flammable products from your home but  i don't know what they did to help the situation. Many schools(including mine) donated cases of water and eye drops to help the fireman. Another very dangerous weather phenomenon is lightning strikes. Over thirty people have been killed as a cause of lightning over the last nine years. Its not very common but it does happen. We cant really stop lightning from striking or evacuate every time lightning strikes all we can do is take precautions against it.
There has also been very various dangerous thunderstorms and other things across the state and i think we need to take more precautions against weather harming Texans.

  2. The times between April-June, are tornado seasons because the cold air from the winter months are combined with the hot air trying to come in, when they collide the air forms a spinning motion which results in a funnel cloud (start of a tornado) although some funnel clouds never hit the land, so theirfore ar'nt exactly initiated... also (i thought this was funny)reguarding lightning- men are more likey to get hit by lightning then women (probably because the average man is alittle taller that the average woman.)

  3. Wow I didn't know that so many lives have been taken. Have you heard about the hurricane houses they are designing near the pacific? Maybe Texas should have houses designed to withstand tornadoes as well.
